At both the Promenade and the Bridge, there will be the unique sound of walking above cars. By recording at different times throughout the day, I hope to reveal distinct traffic patterns of both cars and people. I would expect the morning and night to have slower moving car traffic with idling engines and more honking, and during the middle of the day there should be faster moving cars with less traffic. Also, I think there would be more foot traffic during the middle of the day.
I want to be able to capture the subtleties of each footstep on the different surfaces I am walking on, as well as the general ambience of the location I am moving through as I approach the city. There will be a big shift in sound when I move from pavement to the wooden boards of the bridge. The cameras on my feet will capture brief moving snapshot of the current location, with the details in the foreground and glimpses of the grand scenery in the background. The dual screen setup is designed to enhance the feeling of walking, with one foot forward at a time, capturing the sounds of this beautiful walk.
